Terms of Service
Welcome to Cleantool ("the Service"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Use of the Service
The Service provides quick generators, converters, and calculators that run in your browser. Any output, calculation, or generated text is provided for convenience only and does not constitute professional, financial, legal, or tax advice. You are responsible for verifying any result before acting on it.
Acceptable use
You agree not to (a) violate any law or regulation, (b) infringe the rights of others, (c) attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the Service, or (d) misrepresent outputs as authoritative or factual where they are not.
Intellectual property
The Service's design, code, and editorial content are owned by the operator. Generic placeholder text and numerical results are free to use without attribution.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from use of, or reliance on, the Service.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Service and how we handle it, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, and the UK Data Protection Act 2018.
Information we collect
- Usage data: aggregated, non-identifying analytics such as pages viewed, used only to understand performance.
- Technical data: browser type, device type, and referrer, logged by our hosting provider for security and reliability.
- Advertising data: if and when advertising is shown on the Service, our advertising partners (including Google and its certified partners) may set cookies or read device identifiers to serve and measure ads. This only happens after you accept non-essential cookies.
The Service is designed to be used without an account. The inputs you enter and any output generated stay in your browser and are never transmitted to us.
Legal bases (GDPR)
- Consent, for any non-essential cookies, where used.
- Legitimate interests, for essential operation, security, and fraud prevention.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your cookies and revisiting the Service to make a new choice. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local supervisory authority.
Data retention
Aggregated, non-identifying analytics may be retained for up to 26 months. Server logs are typically retained for up to 30 days.
International transfers
Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) are used to protect your information.
Analytics and advertising providers
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate usage. Google Consent Mode v2 is implemented, so analytics and advertising storage remain denied until you accept. Where advertising is served, Google acts as an independent controller for the data it collects; see How Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can control personalised advertising at Google My Ad Center and youronlinechoices.eu.
Contact
For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, email contact@lynasmedia.co.uk or use the contact page.
Cookie Policy
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by your browser. We use cookies and similar technologies (including local storage) to operate the Service and remember your preferences.
Categories we may use
- Strictly necessary: required for the Service to work, including remembering your light or dark theme choice. These do not require consent.
- Analytics: help us understand how the Service is used, in aggregate (Google Analytics 4). Set only after you accept.
- Advertising: used to serve and measure ads and, where permitted, to personalise them. Set only after you accept.
Managing your choices
When you first visit, a banner asks whether to allow non-essential cookies. Your choice is stored locally and applied through Google Consent Mode v2. You can change it at any time using the "Cookie choices" link in the footer, and most browsers let you block or delete cookies via their settings. Your theme preference can be changed with the toggle in the header.
Third-party cookies
Where third-party services (for example, analytics) set cookies, they act as independent data controllers. Please refer to their policies for details on how they process your data.
